Rolando Navarro Killed in Pedestrian Crash on Highway 14 near Palmdale Boulevard

 
PALMDALE, CA (May 9, 2022) — Rolando Navarro died in a pedestrian accident on Highway 14 near Palmdale Boulevard on Thursday.
 
According to the California Highway Patrol, the fatal pedestrian accident happened around 4:55 a.m. For unknown reasons, 44-year-old Navarro was standing in the center divider of Highway 14.
 
As a 2017 Toyota Corolla, driven by 38-year-old Diego Hernandez, approached the area at 65 miles per hour, Navarro reportedly stepped into the Toyota’s path.
 
Subsequently, the Toyota struck Navarro, who ended up on the right-hand shoulder of the freeway following the accident.
 
Soon after, paramedics and authorities responded and pronounced Navarro dead at the scene.
 
As for Hernandez, he pulled over a short distance away and immediately called 911.
 
At this time, authorities have not confirmed if drugs or alcohol led to the accident. However, an ongoing investigation should confirm more details.
