Woman Killed in Hit-and-Run Pedestrian Crash on Fairfax Road in Bakersfield
BAKERSFIELD, CA (May 9, 2022) — A woman died in a hit-and-run pedestrian accident on Fairfax Road at Niles Street on Friday.
According to reports, the fatal hit-and-run happened around 8:30 p.m. Under unclear circumstances, a big rig struck a woman as the driver tried making a right turn onto Niles Street from eastbound Fairfax Road.
Subsequently, the driver of the semi-truck left the scene of the accident.
Soon after, paramedics and authorities responded to the scene and confirmed that the woman had succumbed to her wounds. Per witnesses, the women used to frequent the area.
At this time, the victim’s identity and the whereabouts of the driver need additional investigating. Therefore, any witnesses with more information should contact the California Highway Patrol.
