63-Year-Old Richard Wells Killed in Scotts Valley Car Crash near Skypark Skate Park

 
SCOTTS VALLEY, CA (January 31, 2024) – Authorities identified 63-year-old Richard Wells of Santa Cruz County as the driver killed in a car accident on Kings Village Road, Saturday morning.
 
According to the Scotts Valley Police Department, the incident happened on January 27, at about 8:40 a.m. For reasons still under investigation, a white Subaru collided with an unoccupied blue car in front of the Skypark skate park.
 
Then, the Subaru crashed into a wall and a sign before it rolled down a ravine.
 
Emergency crews pronounced the Subaru driver, Wells, dead at the scene.
 
No other injuries were reported.
 
Witnesses claim that the white Subaru was driving erratically prior to the collision. Officers continue to investigate the cause of the fatal accident. Anyone with additional information can call Scotts Valley police at (831) 440-5670.
