PALM SPRINGS, CA (January 30, 2024) – A man died in a pedestrian accident on South Palm Canyon Drive, Sunday evening.
 
According to the Palm Springs Police Department, the incident happened on January 28, at about 6:52 p.m. For reasons still under investigation, a vehicle hit the pedestrian in the 600 block South Palm Canyon Drive near the intersection with Indian Canyon Drive.
 
Emergency crews pronounced the pedestrian dead at the scene. Authorities withheld the identity of the victim, pending notification of next of kin.
 
The driver of the vehicle remained and cooperated with investigators.
 
Palm Springs police continue to investigate the cause of the fatal accident. Officers will release additional information once it becomes available.
