Man Dies after Struck by Pickup Truck on 805 Freeway in Miramar

 
MIRAMAR, CA (August 1, 2023) – Richard Rollo was killed in a pedestrian accident in Miramar Friday on July 28.
 
According to the San Diego County Medical Examiner’s Office, Rollo was driving northbound on 805 Freeway when a tractor-trailer struck his car from behind about noon Friday.
 
After the crash, the driver of the big rig pulled over on the right hand shoulder of the freeway. Rollo stopped nearby, just north of a transition ramp from Highway 52.
 
Rollo then began walking south toward the big rig and crossed the freeway connector, when a pickup truck struck him. He suffered fatal injuries and died at the scene. He was 61 years old from San Diego.
 
An investigation into this fatality is underway.
