Richard Kopasek Detained for Attempting to Hit Juveniles with Car on Sunflower Drive near Goleta Avenue

 
YUCCA VALLEY, CA (April 14, 2022) — Richard Kopasek faces charges after attempting to hit several juveniles with a car on Sunflower Drive near Goleta Avenue.
 
According to the Yucca Valley sheriff’s department, the incident happened on Friday in the 58800 block of Sunflower Drive. Around 3:00 p.m., 69-year-old Kopasek reportedly tried to hit three juveniles along Sunflower Drive.
 
Shortly after, authorities received calls about this incident and responded to the scene. Following an investigation, officers determined that Kopasek was operating a white four-door sedan to hit the group.
 
With the help of a witness, officers were able to arrest Kopasek and charged him with assault with a deadly weapon, booking him into the Morongo Basin Jail with his bail set at $50,000.
