Adam Stovall, Cynthia Retamoza, and Richard Adams Hurt in Modesto Car Crash

 
MODESTO, CA (May 4, 2021) — A 38-year-old man identified as Richard Adams was hurt in a motorcycle crash on Thursday, April 29.
 
According to California Highway Patrol, Adams and his passenger, 49-year-old Cynthia Retamoza, rode a motorcycle on 7th Street. They traveled north on 7th Street, just north of Crows Landing Road at about 10:45 p.m. Thursday. At the same time, 33-year-old Marlene Rodriguez drove a 2016 Honda sedan a few car lengths behind the motorcycle.
 
Deputy Adam Stovall drove south in his patrol vehicle, a 2017 Chevrolet SUV, when Adams turned left into the SUV’s direction.
 
The motorcycle and SUV crashed and ejected both riders onto the roadway. The impact also sent the motorcycle into the northbound lane where Rodriguez’s Honda struck it.
 
Medics rushed Adams to a local hospital with a fractured wrist. They also brought Retamoza to the hospital with a fractured pelvis.
 
Stovall had minor injuries to his arms.
 
Rodriguez did not sustain any injuries.
 
Investigators do not believe that alcohol, drugs, or speed, contributed to the crash.
