Bicyclist Dies after Struck by SUV in Fountain Valley, DUI Suspect Arrested

 
FOUNTAIN VALLEY, CA (November 18, 2022) – Phong Khuu was killed in a DUI crash in Fountain Valley early Tuesday morning on November 15.
 
The fatal crash happened around 4:30 a.m. at the intersection of Sunn Avenue and Los Coches Street. According to the Fountain Valley Police Department, Khuu was riding his bicycle eastbound on Sunn Avenue when a gray Honda CRV made a U-turn and struck him.
 
Khuu, a 62-year-old Garden Grove resident, died at the scene.
 
The driver of the Honda, 43-year-old Scott McDonough of Fountain Valley, remained on scene and appeared to be under the influence.
 
McDonough was arrested for DUI causing injury and vehicular manslaughter while intoxicated, police said.
 
Authorities urged witnesses to call the Fountain Valley Police Department Traffic Bureau at 714-593-4481.
