Pilot Dies after Plane Crashes in Orchard Off Highway 162 in Glenn County

 
GLENN COUNTY, CA (March 12, 2023) – Peter Mann Sr. was killed in a plane crash in Glenn County on March 7.
 
The fatal crash happened around 5:15 p.m. on Highway 162 at County Road BB. According to the Glenn County Sheriff’s Office, a single-engine Rockwell Commander flew into high-voltage transmission lines around Willows and went down in an orchard off the highway.
 
Mann, a resident of Willows, was the pilot and the only person onboard. He was killed in the crash.
 
Firefighters said high-tension power lines are down after the crash.
 
According to the PG&E outage map, 44 customers lost power just after 5:00 p.m. in the area.
 
The Federal Aviation Administration is handling the investigation.
