Person Killed in Sacramento Pedestrian Accident on Watt Avenue

 
SACRAMENTO, CA (May 24, 2022) — One person died in a pedestrian accident on Watt Avenue near Lynne Way on Monday.
 
According to the California Highway Patrol, the fatal pedestrian crash occurred around 4:45 a.m. Under unclear circumstances, a 20-year-old driver headed to work struck a woman who reportedly had been standing in the roadway.
 
As a result of the crash, the woman suffered serious injuries and died moments later.
 
Following the accident, officers arrived at the scene to interview the driver, who cooperated with police investigators.
 
At this time, officers do not believe alcohol played a part in this crash. However, an ongoing investigation should confirm the liabilities and precise circumstances.
