Fatal Hit-and-Run Bicycle Crash on Raymond Road in Madera

 
MADERA, CA (May 24, 2022) — One person died in a hit-and-run bicycle accident on Raymond Road near Road 28 on Monday.
 
According to investigators, the fatal hit-and-run happened around 5:00 a.m. For unknown reasons, a southbound driver made an unsafe turn and lost control.
 
Subsequently, the vehicle swerved off the roadway and onto a dirt shoulder, where it struck a man riding a Huffy beach cruiser, pedaling northbound.
 
Unfortunately, the driver did not stay and help the gravely injured cyclist. The driver fled the scene.
 
The bicyclist died shortly after. Authorities have yet to release his name.
 
At this time, the police need the public’s help with identifying the suspect involved in this hit-and-run. Those with information should contact the Madera California Highway Patrol at (559) 675-1025.
