Pedro Garcia Killed in Bicycle Accident on Lake Park Drive [San Jacinto, CA]

74-Year-Old Bicyclist Dies after Colliding with Car on Lake Park Drive near Soboba Road

 
SAN JACINTO, CA (March 28, 2022) – Pedro Garcia died in a bicycle accident on Lake Park Drive in San Jacinto on Saturday evening.
 
The accident happened around 6:30 p.m. on March 26 just south of Soboba Road. According to Riverside County Sheriff’s Department, Garcia was riding his bicycle southbound on Lake Park Drive. At the same time, a black Honda was traveling in the same direction on Lake Park Drive.
 
As the Honda passed the bicycle, Garcia veered into the first lane, colliding into the passenger side of the Honda. The impact ejected him off his bike.
 
The driver of the Honda immediately stopped to render aid to the bicyclist and contact law enforcement.
 
When officers arrived, they found Garcia lying down in the roadway with major traumatic injuries. Paramedics rushed him to Riverside University Health System Medical Center in Moreno Valley, where he died several hours later.
 
Garcia was a 74-year-old Hemet resident, according to the Riverside County Sheriff – Coroner’s Office.
 
It is unknown at this time whether alcohol and/or drugs were a factor. The crash is still under investigation.
