SAN DIEGO, CA (February 16, 2022) — A pedestrian was struck and killed by a U-Haul truck on Alvarado Canyon Road near Fairmount Avenue on Monday night.
 
According to San Diego police officers, the pedestrian crash occurred around 9:00 p.m. For unknown reasons, a 65-year-old woman driving eastbound on Alvarado Canyon Road struck a female pedestrian walking the eastbound lane.
 
According to reports, the mirror on the rented box vehicle struck the pedestrian, causing her severe injuries.
 
Subsequently, officers and paramedics responded and pronounced the victim dead.
