Man Fatally Struck by Two Vehicles on Mathilda Avenue near Washington Avenue in Sunnyvale

 
SUNNYVALE, CA (October 12, 2022) – A pedestrian was struck and killed by two vehicles on Mathilda Avenue on Monday evening.
 
According to the Sunnyvale Department of Public Safety, the incident happened on October 10 at about 10:32 p.m. For reasons still under investigation, two vehicles collided near Washington Avenue and hit a man.
 
Emergency crews attempted lifesaving procedures. However, the victim was later pronounced dead at the scene. Authorities withheld the identity of the victim, pending notification of next of kin.
 
Meanwhile, both drivers remained and cooperated with investigators. Officers did not release the names of the drivers.
 
The DPS Major Accident Investigation Team continues to investigate the cause of the fatal accident. Anyone with information can call Investigator D. Larks at (408) 730-7109.
