Pedestrian Killed, Keith Satyananda Arrested in Hit-and-Run on Pacific Coast Highway [Point Mugu, CA]

Police Arrest Hit-and-Run Driver after Fatally Striking 1 Pedestrian and Seriously Injuring Another near Mugu Rock

 
POINT MUGU, CA (December 26, 2022) – A pedestrian died and police arrested Keith Satyananda after a hit-and-run crash in Point Mugu on Wednesday evening.
 
The fatal crash happened around 10:10 p.m. on December 21, along Pacific Coast Highway just north of Mugu Rock. According to the California Highway Patrol, the 46-year-old suspect from Los Angeles was driving a 2021 Mazda SUV when he struck two pedestrians.
 
After striking the victims, Satyananda drove away without rendering aid.
 
First responders found a 22-year-old woman lying down unresponsive on the dirt shoulder of the northbound side of the highway. They pronounced her dead at the scene.
 
The woman’s name was withheld pending notification of family members by the Ventura County Medical Examiner’s Office.
 
Meanwhile, a 30-year-old man from San Gabriel was transported to Ventura County Medical Center with major injuries.
 
Officers spotted the SUV on Rice Avenue and Wooley Road several miles away. They stopped the car and arrested the suspect.
 
Satyananda was booked on multiple offenses, including DUI and hit-and-run, authorities said.
 
An investigation into this fatality is ongoing.
