26-Year-Old Man Killed in Hit-and-Run Pedestrian Accident on Fairmount Avenue in Mission Valley

 
MISSION VALLEY, CA (October 6, 2022) – A 26-year-old man died in a hit-and-run pedestrian accident on Fairmount Avenue on Monday evening.
 
According to the California Highway Patrol, the incident happened on October 3 at about 9:30 p.m. For reasons still under investigation, a vehicle hit the victim near 8 Freeway.
 
Emergency crews rushed the victim to a local hospital, where he was later pronounced dead. Authorities withheld the name of the victim, pending notification of next of kin.
 
As per reports, the involved vehicle immediately left the area.
 
Investigators did not release the description of the suspect vehicle.
 
CHP continues to investigate the cause of the fatal accident. Officers will release additional information once it becomes available.
