Pedestrian Dies in Hit-and-Run Accident on Hegenberger Road in Oakland

 
OAKLAND, CA (October 6, 2022) — A woman died in a hit-and-run pedestrian accident on Hegenberger Road near Hamilton Street on Monday.
 
According to Oakland police, the fatal hit-and-run happened around 9:50 p.m. Under unclear circumstances, an unknown vehicle struck a woman believed to be in her 30s on the southbound side of Hegenberger Road.
 
Paramedics pronounced her deceased at the scene. Her identity has yet to be released.
 
Responding officers found the woman lying outside a marked crosswalk after the car hit her. As for the driver, he or she had already left the scene.
 
At this time, officers do not have a description of the suspect or vehicle involved. In addition, they have not confirmed if alcohol played a factor in this accident.
 
If anyone has information leading to the whereabouts of the suspect, police and Crime Stoppers of Oakland have a reward of up to $10,000 for any information that could lead to the arrest.
