Pedestrian Dies in Late Evening Crash on Highway 99 in Sacramento

 
SACRAMENTO, CA (March 13, 2024) – A pedestrian was hit and killed by a vehicle on Highway 99 in Sacramento late Monday evening on March 11.
 
The fatal crash happened just after 11:15 p.m. near Calvine Road. According to the California Highway Patrol, the male pedestrian was walking between lanes along the southbound highway when a vehicle struck him.
 
As a result of the impact, the pedestrian suffered fatal injuries and died at the scene. He was not yet identified.
 
The driver of the vehicle stayed on scene and cooperated with officers.
 
DUI is not suspected to be a factor in the crash, which is still under investigation.
