Man Hit, Killed in Highway 101 Accident in Santa Barbara

 
SANTA BARBARA, CA (October 31, 2023) — A pedestrian was hit and killed by a car on Highway 101 at the Castillo Street off-ramp.
 
According to the California Highway Patrol, the deadly pedestrian accident occurred around 10:15 p.m. Saturday. For an unknown reason, a male pedestrian was standing in the middle of the Castillo Street off-ramp when an oncoming 2015 Honda Accord struck him.
 
As a result of the accident, the pedestrian suffered major injuries, prompting paramedics to rush him to Santa Barbara Cottage Hospital. However, in spite of receiving life-saving measures, he passed away.
 
Officials have not released the victim’s name.
 
According to the CHP, neither of the three occupants in the Honda Accord suffered an injury.
 
Authorities do not suspect drugs or alcohol to have played a part in the crash. However, police will look into the details to identify the possibilities.
