BAKERSFIELD, CA (July 21, 2023) — A pedestrian was hit and injured by a motorcycle rider on Chester Avenue near Columbus Street.
 
According to the Bakersfield Police Department, the pedestrian accident happened on July 18 around 10:57 p.m. Upon responding, officers found a pedestrian with major injuries after being hit by a motorcycle rider.
 
The motorcyclist suffered minor injuries in the crash.
 
Officers learned that the accident happened as the motorcyclist was heading south on Chester Avenue on an overpass. At the same time, a pedestrian was crossing the overpass outside of a marked crosswalk.
