EL CAJON, CA (April 18, 2024) – A pedestrian sustained injuries in a hit-and-run accident on West Washington Avenue, Tuesday evening.
 
According to the El Cajon Police Department, the incident happened on April 16, at about 10:20 p.m. For reasons still under investigation, two vehicles collided in the 400 block of West Washington Avenue.
 
One of the drivers involved exited his vehicle to take photos of the damage. Shortly after, an eastbound pickup truck hit him.
 
Emergency crews transported the victim to a hospital for treatment of major injuries.
 
As per reports, the driver of the pickup truck fled the area and failed to render aid.
 
Investigators described the suspect vehicle as a white or gray pickup truck that might have sustained damage, including a missing mirror on the passenger side. Anyone with additional information can call El Cajon police at (619) 579-3311.
