Pedestrian Accident at Grand Avenue and Perkins Street in Oakland

 
OAKLAND, CA (July 27, 2021) – A man sustained injuries in a pedestrian accident on Grand Avenue, Wednesday evening.
 
According to the Oakland Police Department, the incident happened on July 21, at about 9:33 p.m. The pedestrian attempted to cross in a marked crosswalk when a westbound Toyota Camry hit him near Perkins Street.
 
Paramedics transported the victim to Highland Hospital for treatment of serious injuries. As per reports, the pedestrian remains in critical condition.
 
Authorities described the victim as an Oakland resident in his 20s.
 
Meanwhile, the driver of the Toyota stopped at the scene. The occupants of the Toyota reportedly did not sustain injuries in the accident.
 
Investigators ruled out speed as a factor in the collision. However, Oakland police continue to investigate the cause of the accident. Officers ask anyone with information to call the police department’s traffic investigation unit at (510) 777-8570.
