55-Year-Old Bicyclist Struck, Killed by Hit-and-Run Driver on 21st Street in Sacramento

 
SACRAMENTO, CA (January 19, 2024) – A 55-year-old woman died in a hit-and-run bicycle accident on 21st Street, Tuesday morning.
 
According to the Sacramento Police Department, the incident happened on January 16, at about 7:45 a.m. Due to unknown circumstances, a vehicle hit a bicyclist near the area of 21st Street and X Street.
 
Emergency crews transported the bicyclist to a nearby hospital, where she later died. Authorities withheld the identity of the victim, pending notification of next of kin.
 
The driver of the vehicle fled the scene and failed to render aid.
 
On Wednesday, officers located the suspect near the area of 19th Street and Broadway. The driver, identified as 63-year-old Payton Glynn, was then arrested. Glynn will be booked into the Sacramento County Main Jail for felony hit-and-run and manslaughter charges.
