Passenger Killed, Madeline St. Pierre Arrested in DUI Crash on Pescadero Creek Road [Pescadero, CA]

Car Plunges into 100-Foot Cliff at Pescadero State Beach Killing the Passenger, DUI Suspect Arrested

 
PESCADERO, CA (October 15, 2023) – A passenger was killed and Madeline St. Pierre was arrested in a DUI crash in Pescadero Thursday evening on October 12.
 
The fatal crash happened just before 10:00 p.m. near the intersection of Pescadero Creek Road and Highway 1. According to the California Highway Patrol, St. Pierre was driving a 2021 Kia Forte westbound on Pescadero Creek Road and did not slow or stop at the intersection.
 
The Kia continued westbound through the intersection toward the ocean and went over a cliff. It fell 100 feet onto Pescadero State Beach.
 
As a result, the passenger in the car was killed. Authorities only identified him as a 29-year-old Watsonville man.
 
St Pierre, a 22-year-old Arcata resident, suffered major injuries and was taken to Stanford Medical Center. She was later arrested on suspicion of vehicular manslaughter and driving under the influence.

A second passenger was also taken to the hospital, but only as a precaution.
