DUI Hit-and-Run Driver Causes Deadly Crash on Geyserville Avenue in Santa Rosa

 
SANTA ROSA, CA (November 7, 2022) – A passenger was killed in a DUI hit-and-run crash on Geyserville Avenue in Santa Rosa on Saturday afternoon, November 5.
 
The crash happened around 3:47 p.m. just south of Zanzi Lane. According to the CHP, a vehicle had crashed into a tree, ejecting one occupant. Two other occupants in the vehicle had fled the scene on foot.
 
The ejected passenger suffered major injuries and died at the scene. The identity of the victim was being withheld pending notification of next of kin.
 
The CHP, Sonoma County Sheriff’s Office and Cloverdale police searched the area for the missing suspects. Two males were soon located walking on Asti Road and Dutcher Creek Road.
 
The driver was arrested before being taken to Santa Rosa Memorial Hospital to be medically cleared. Police booked him into Sonoma County Jail for charges including felony driving under the influence, hit and run, gross vehicular manslaughter and delaying or resisting arrest.
 
An investigation is underway.
