Police Arrest Suspect after Hitting Man During Road Rage Crash in Yuba City

 
YUBA CITY, CA (November 7, 2022) – Police arrested David Mateo Jimenez after hitting a man during a road rage crash in Yuba City on Friday.
 
Around 1:00 p.m. on November 4, deputies responded to the 1000 block of Petty Court. When they arrived, the victim told them that he was hit after a road rage incident.
 
The victim said he was following Jimenez too closely in his car, but the suspect pulled up to him and started yelling at him. He then pulled over and got out of his car to confront Jimenez. As he walked over to the suspect’s car, Jimenez accelerated in reverse and hit him, knocking him down.
 
Jimenez, a 43-year-old Yuba City resident, then drove away.
 
Deputies said that the victim was injured, but was able to see the license plate of the suspect’s car.
 
According to the Sutter County Sheriff’s Office, they were able to find the car and Jimenez. They took him into custody and booked him into the Sutter County Jail on the charge of assault with a deadly weapon.
 
Jimenez was later released on bail.
