Car Crashes into Utility Pole on Clarkson Avenue in Fresno County Killing 24-Year-Old Passenger

 
FRESNO COUNTY, CA (February 29, 2024) – A passenger was killed in a car accident on Clarkson Avenue in Fresno County Tuesday morning on February 27.
 
The fatal accident happened just before 5:30 a.m. near Del Rey Avenue. According to the California Highway Patrol, a Chevrolet Malibu was traveling on Clarkson when it went off the roadway, hitting vines and a utility pole.
 
As a result of the crash, the 24-year-old passenger suffered fatal injuries and died at the scene. Officers said the victim was not wearing a seat belt.
 
The 19-year-old driver was airlifted to Community Regional Medical Center in an unknown condition.
 
CHP officials are still investigating the crash to determine whether drugs or alcohol was a factor.
