DUI Involved in Major Motorcycle Crash on Grand Avenue in San Diego
SAN DIEGO, CA (June 28, 2021) – A rider suffered serious injuries in a motorcycle crash on Grand Avenue on June 22.
According to the California Highway Patrol, the collision happened at Haines Street shortly before 2:00 PM.
Based on reports, the victim was in a 2016 Harley-Davidson heading west on Grand at the time of the crash. Due to unknown reasons, a southbound 2000 Toyota Camry pulled out in front of his bike. Subsequently, the motorcycle crashed into the driver’s side of the Toyota, sending the rider tumbling onto the roadway.
As a result, the 25-year-old rider sustained broken bones, including his right femur, left humerus, and right wrist.
The San Diego police arrested the 26-year-old driver of the Toyota on suspicion of driving while intoxicated. At this point, this motorcycle crash on Grand Avenue is still under investigation.
