Passenger Dies after Car Overturns in Orange Cove, Police Arrest Yesenia Corona for DUI

 
ORANGE COVE, CA (March 1, 2022) – One person died and police arrested Yesenia Corona for DUI after a rollover crash in Orange Cove, early Monday morning.
 
The fatal crash happened around 2:00 a.m. on February 28 near Avenue 450 and Road 132. CHP officials said the 20-year-old suspect from Dinuba was driving a vehicle and was unable to negotiate a curve. The vehicle then traveled off the roadway and overturned into a dry canal.
 
As a result, the unidentified passenger in the vehicle suffered fatal injuries and died at the scene.
 
Corona was taken to a hospital in an unknown condition.
 
CHP officials found beer bottles and drug paraphernalia in the wrecked vehicle. They believe drug use was a factor in the incident.
 
Police arrested Corona on suspicion of driving under the influence.
 
The California Highway Patrol is still investigating the fatal crash.
