Late Evening Two-Vehicle Crash on Highway 138 in Palmdale Kills One Person

 
PALMDALE, CA (January 14, 2024) – One person was killed in a two-vehicle accident on Highway 138 in Palmdale late Friday evening on January 12.
 
The fatal accident happened around 11:36 p.m. at East Avenue T. According to Palmdale Sheriff’s Station, a red Kia Sportage sideswiped the front bumper of a semi-truck that was making a westbound turn from Highway 138 onto Pearblossom Highway. The Kia then lost control and struck a black GMC Terrain that was heading northbound on Fort Tejon Road.
 
As a result of the crash, the driver of the Kia was pronounced dead at the scene.
 
Paramedics rushed another person to a hospital for treatment of unspecified injuries.
 
The accident is still under investigation. Deputies urged anyone with further information to call them at 661-272-2596.
