Fatal Two-Vehicle Accident on 405 Freeway in Costa Mesa

 
COSTA MESA, CA (September 1, 2022) – At least one person was killed in a two-vehicle accident on 405 Freeway in Costa Mesa on Monday morning, August 29.
 
The fatal accident happened around 9:00 a.m. just north of 55 Freeway. According to the California Highway Patrol, a dark blue Kia and a white Chevrolet Colorado pickup truck with ladder racks collided for unknown reasons.
 
When officers arrived, they located the Kia on the right shoulder and the Colorado in the center divider. They also found at least one fatality as a result of the accident.
 
Paramedics took another person to a hospital with minor injuries.
 
At this time, the identity of the deceased was not immediately available.
 
The CHP is still investigating the exact cause of the crash and factors involved.
