Speeding Driver Dies after Crashing into Stopped Car on 135th Street in Gardena

 
GARDENA, CA (June 11, 2023) – One person was killed in a two-vehicle accident at 135th Street and Crenshaw Boulevard in Gardena on Thursday evening.
 
The fatal accident happened around 7:55 p.m. on June 8. According to the Gardena Police Department, a white Kia was heading north on Crenshaw Boulevard at a high rate of speed when it struck a black Mercedes-Benz that was stopped at a red light.
 
When officers arrived, they located both cars in the intersection with major collision damage.
 
Paramedics rushed both drivers to a local hospital, where the driver of the Kia was pronounced dead.
 
The condition of the driver of the Mercedes was not immediately known.
