Driver Dies in Lancaster Two-Car Accident on Avenue J

 
LANCASTER, CA (January 19, 2022) – One person was killed in a two-car accident at Avenue J and 32nd Street East on Sunday morning.
 
The accident happened around 10:53 a.m. on January 16. According to the Lancaster Sheriff’s Station, a Chevrolet Spark was traveling westbound on Avenue J when it made a sudden left or U-turn at the intersection of 32nd Street East. It then collided into a Hyundai Sonata, which was heading eastbound on Avenue J.
 
Paramedics rushed the male driver of the Chevrolet to Antelope Valley Hospital. However, the driver succumbed to his injuries.
 
The Los Angeles County Coroner’s Office will release the identity of the deceased once family members are notified.
 
Meanwhile, the driver of the Hyundai had minor injuries.
 
Both drivers were sole occupants of their cars.
 
The crash remains under investigation, but speed and DUI do not appear to be a factor. Deputies asked anyone with further information to call them at 661-948-8466.
