Fatal Three-Vehicle Accident on Highway 41 in Atascadero

 
ATASCADERO, CA (October 11, 2022) – One person was killed in a three-vehicle accident on Highway 41 in Atascadero on Saturday morning, October 8.
 
The accident happened shortly before 11:45 a.m. at the intersection with Old Morro Road. Police said one vehicle was traveling westbound on the highway when it crossed over the double yellow line into oncoming traffic. It then collided head-on with another vehicle that was heading eastbound.
 
A third vehicle swerved off the roadway to avoid the collision and struck a telephone pole.
 
As a result of the crash, the driver of the first vehicle died at the scene. The second driver suffered major injuries and was transported to a hospital in Sierra Vista.
 
Meanwhile, the third driver was unharmed.
 
The Atascadero Police Department is still investigating the accident.
