63-Year-Old Kathryn Pearce Dies after Car Crash in Vernalis

 
VERNALIS, CA (October 11, 2022) – Authorities identified 63-year-old Kathryn Pearce as the victim killed in a car accident on Highway 132, Thursday evening.
 
According to the California Highway Patrol, the incident happened on October 6. A Toyota Prius reportedly collided with the side of a westbound Nissan Frontier near McCracken Road.
 
Emergency crews pronounced the Toyota driver, later identified as Pearce, dead at the scene. Investigators noted that Pearce was not secured in a seat belt.
 
Meanwhile, a medical helicopter transported the Nissan driver, identified as 23-year-old Dilpreet Thiara of Manteca, to Memorial Medical Center in Modesto. As per reports, she suffered major injuries.
 
CHP continues to investigate the cause of the fatal accident. Officers will release additional information once it becomes available.
