Morning Rollover Crash on 5 Freeway in Bakersfield Ends in Fatality

 
BAKERSFIELD, CA (May 11, 2023) – At least one person died after a rollover accident on 5 Freeway in Bakersfield Wednesday morning on May 10.
 
The fatal accident happened around 5:40 a.m. just north of Stockdale Highway. According to California Highway Patrol, a red vehicle was traveling northbound on the freeway when it rolled over and landed in the center divider.
 
Officers arrived and confirmed at least one fatality as a result of the accident.
 
The name, age and hometown of the victim were not immediately available.
 
It is unknown if there are other injuries sustained in the crash.
 
The CHP is still investigating the exact cause and factors involved.
