Pedestrian Dies after Struck by Hit-and-Run Driver on 880 Freeway in San Jose
SAN JOSE, CA (May 11, 2023) – A woman was killed in a hit-and-run crash on 880 Freeway in San Jose Monday morning on May 8.
Around 7:51 a.m., the CHP was informed about a possible dead body on the roadway. Officers responded and found the body of the woman in the center median of northbound 880 Freeway, just north of Stevens Creek Boulevard near Santana Row and the Westfield Valley Fair mall.
Officers found evidence that the body was struck by a vehicle that had fled the scene.
The Santa Clara County Office of the Medical Examiner-Coroner withheld the victim’s identity at this time.
At this time, an investigation is ongoing and officers are still on the lookout for the hit-and-run suspect.
