Fatal Pedestrian Accident on Kirker Pass Road in Contra Costa County

 
CONTRA COSTA COUNTY, CA (March 14, 2021) – One person died in a pedestrian accident on Kirker Pass Road in unincorporated Contra Costa County Thursday evening.
 
The accident happened around 8:16 p.m., March 11, just north of Nortonville Road near the south edge of Pittsburg. According to the California Highway Patrol, they received reports of a person who had been struck by a car.
 
When emergency personnel arrived, they determined multiple vehicles, including a Lexus, a pickup truck and a BMW sedan hit the victim.
 
Life-saving measures were performed, but the pedestrian died at the scene.
 
The occupants of the involved vehicles were all uninjured, remained at the scene, and cooperated with authorities.
 
It is unknown at this time why the pedestrian was within the roadway at this location, the CHP said.
 
The CHP said alcohol or drugs are not considered as contributing factors. Authorities asked witnesses to contact CHP in Martinez at 925-646-4980.
