Pedestrian Dies after Hit by Minivan on Highway 101 in Sausalito

 
SAUSALITO, CA (August 31, 2022) – One person was killed in a pedestrian accident on Highway 101 in Sausalito early Tuesday morning, August 30.
 
The fatal accident happened just before 4:30 a.m. at the Spencer Avenue off-ramp. According to the California Highway Patrol, the pedestrian was walking along the southbound highway when a Dodge caravan struck them.
 
The pedestrian suffered fatal injuries and was pronounced dead at the scene.
 
The Marin County Coroner’s Office will release the victim’s identity once family members are properly notified.
 
The driver of the minivan remained on scene and cooperated with police.
 
The fatal crash forced the closure of all southbound lanes of Highway 101 for an unknown duration.
 
Drugs or alcohol do not appear to be a factor at the time of the accident. Further investigation is underway.
