Head-On Crash on Highway 49 in Mariposa Leaves 1 Dead

 
MARIPOSA, CA (March 31, 2023) – One person was killed in a head-on accident on Highway 49 in Mariposa Wednesday evening on March 29.
 
The fatal accident happened around 7:11 p.m. at the intersection with Agua Fria Road. According to the California Highway Patrol, a white sedan and a brown Dodge Ram collided head-on for unknown reasons.
 
When officers arrived, they found one person with major injuries and was unconscious. That person was pronounced dead.
 
It is unclear if there are other injuries sustained in the crash.
 
The exact cause and factors involved remain under investigation.
