Deadly Big Rig Accident on Highway 88 in Stockton

 
STOCKTON, CA (April 29, 2021) – At least one person died in a big rig accident on Highway 88 in Stockton Monday afternoon, April 26.
 
The accident happened around 4:40 p.m. at East Eight Mile Road. According to the California Highway Patrol, a white Ford F-550 pickup pulling a 20-foot trailer slammed into the back of the big rig for unknown reasons.
 
As a result, at least one person suffered major injuries. Responding paramedics pronounced the patient dead at the scene.
 
The driver of the big rig was also hurt in the crash.
 
It is unknown if speed, drugs or alcohol played a role in the crash. CHP officials are still investigating the accident.
