Bicyclist Dies after Struck by SUV on Auburn Boulevard in North Highlands

 
NORTH HIGHLANDS, CA (December 26, 2022) – One person was killed in a bicycle accident on Auburn Boulevard in North Highlands late Saturday afternoon on December 24.
 
The fatal accident happened around 5:30 p.m. just south of Madison Avenue. According to the California Highway Patrol, the victim was riding their bicycle in a heavily traveled area for bicyclists and pedestrians.
 
An SUV struck the bicyclist, causing significant injuries on the victim.
 
First responders attempted life-saving aid, but the bicyclist died at the scene. The identity of the victim was withheld pending notification of next of kin.
 
Neither alcohol nor drugs played a factor in the crash. Further investigation is underway.
