Police Arrest DUI Hit-and-Run Suspect after Fatally Striking Man in Colton

 
COLTON, CA (December 26, 2022) – A man died and police arrested Christopher Roman after a DUI hit-and-run crash in Colton early Saturday morning on December 24.
 
The fatal crash happened around 1:25 a.m. near the intersection of West C Street and Pennsylvania Avenue. According to the Colton Police Department, the 19-year-old suspect was driving westbound on C Street and struck the victim.
 
Roman then fled the scene without rendering aid.
 
First responders found the 33-year-old victim lying in the roadway suffering from blunt force trauma. They pronounced him dead at the scene.
 
At this time, the identity of the victim is being withheld pending notification of next of kin.
 
Police later located Roman in the area and determined that he was under the influence. They arrested him and booked him into West Valley Detention Center on suspicion of vehicular manslaughter.
