Bicyclist Dies after Hit by Cement Truck on 60 Freeway in Ontario

 
ONTARIO, CA (July 9, 2023) – One person was killed in a bicycle accident on 60 Freeway in Ontario Friday morning last month on June 30.
 
The fatal accident happened around 8:46 a.m. at the intersection with South Archibald Avenue. According to the California Highway Patrol, the victim was riding their bicycle eastbound on the freeway when a cement truck hit them in a crosswalk.
 
The driver pulled over on the on-ramp, where a bicycle was seen stuck underneath the truck. They remained on scene and cooperated with officers.
 
First responders pronounced the bicyclist dead at the scene.
 
At this time, the victim’s identity was not immediately available.
 
It is unknown if drugs or alcohol was a factor. Further investigation is underway.
