Reckless DUI Driver Causes Crash on California Avenue in Bakersfield

 
BAKERSFIELD, CA (February 15, 2024) – One person was injured in a DUI multi-vehicle crash at California Avenue and Chester Avenue in Bakersfield on Wednesday morning.
 
The crash happened just after 10:30 a.m. on February 14. According to the Bakersfield Police Department, a reckless driver of a Chevrolet pickup truck ran a red light and collided with three other vehicles at the intersection.
 
Video from the scene showed the damaged vehicles after the crash. The pickup truck came to rest at the southeast corner of the intersection.
 
Paramedics transported one of the drivers to a hospital for treatment of moderate injuries.

Meanwhile, police apprehended the driver of the pickup truck and evaluated them for DUI.

An investigation into this crash is underway.
