SYLMAR, CA (January 1, 2022) – Paramedics transported one person to the hospital after a semi-truck accident on 5 Freeway on December 22.
 
According to California Highway Patrol, the collision happened at Highway 14 just before 3:00 PM.
 
Based on a report, a big rig carrying concrete crashed into a wall on the overpass. Subsequently, it broke through the connector before it overturned. Then, it sent some concrete down to the main portion of the 5 Freeway.
 
As a result, paramedics reported a handful of injuries in the incident. Crews with the Los Angeles County Fire Department sent one person to the hospital for unspecified injuries.
 
Also, crews closed both sides of the northbound and southbound lanes of the freeway for an unknown duration while they worked to clear the area.
