One Killed in Riverside Multi-Car Crash on 215 Freeway

RIVERSIDE, CA (December 6, 2021) — One person died in a multi-car accident on the 215 Freeway near Columbia Avenue on Thursday, December 2.

According to the California Highway Patrol, the fatal multi-car crash happened around 7:00 a.m. For unknown reasons, a Toyota Sienna carrying seven people crossed into the path of a box truck.

Unable to avoid the collision, the box truck driver struck the left rear of the van, causing it to spin out of control. Subsequently, the van entered a gore point between the transition road and the 60 Freeway before hitting a guardrail.

As a result of the crash, one person, whose age and gender have not been released, died in the crash. Meanwhile, firefighters had to extricate six people from the van, including children who suffered traumatic injuries.

At this time, the box truck driver is cooperating with the investigation, which proved that alcohol did not play a role in the accident. If anyone has more information on this crash, please contact the CHP.
