Vehicle Rear-Ends Semi Truck on 5 Freeway in Sacramento Leaving Driver in Critical Condition

 
SACRAMENTO, CA (July 2, 2023) – One person was critically injured after a rear-end accident on 5 Freeway in Sacramento Thursday morning on June 29.
 
The accident happened around 5:45 a.m. just north of Sutterville Road. According to the California Highway Patrol, a vehicle rear-ended a semi truck in unclear circumstances.
 
The driver of the vehicle, who was not wearing a seatbelt, suffered severe injuries from the crash.
 
Sacramento Fire Department crews took the driver to a hospital in critical condition.
 
It is unknown if speed, drugs or alcohol played a factor in the crash. An investigation is underway.
