MERCED, CA (September 1, 2023) — A police officer suffered minor injuries in a 2-car accident at 18th Street and G Street.
 
According to Merced police officers, the two-car collision happened Wednesday. Around 9:00 p.m., a southbound 2014 Jeep Cherokee struck the left rear of a 2020 Dodge Charger driven by a patrol officer.
 
Minutes later, the 31-year-old officer was taken to a hospital for treatment of minor injuries. Neither the 28-year-old driver from Live Oak nor the passenger of the Jeep required hospital transportation.
