1 Dies, Driver Crashes Into Disabled Car on Highway 4 in Contra Costa

 
CONTRA COSTA, CA (September 1, 2023) — One person died after a car crashed into a disabled vehicle on Highway 4 near San Marco Boulevard.
 
According to the California Highway Patrol Contra Costa division, the two-car crash happened around 2:00 a.m. Thursday. For an unknown reason, the driver of a Jeep Cherokee SUV crashed, leaving the Jeep SUV disabled from damages.
 
Moments later, a Honda Pilot SUV crashed into the Jeep at the center divider near the fast lane.
 
The Jeep driver, who was inside the vehicle at the time of impact, suffered fatal injuries. The Contra Costa County Sheriff’s Coroner’s Office has yet to release the man’s name.
 
Paramedics arrived moments later and transported the Honda driver to a hospital with minor injuries.
